Favorite Baby Products
Zander Cai Mann will be 8 weeks on Tuesday and began his second leap yesterday (see WonderWeeks app). And boy oh boy, this leap is something else. With that being said, I wanted to share some of the products that we find make life as new parents a little easier. These are products that we use on the daily and absolutely love.
1. Kyte Baby Footie Pajamas- Zander basically lives in these. They are bamboo material so they are incredibly soft and comfortable. I love that they are thin enough to keep him cool when swaddled. If you live somewhere much colder than North Carolina, I would maybe put socks on underneath the footies. My favorite part is that they zip from the top and the bottom, making for an easy diaper change. They have so many cute colors. Zander is currently in 0-3 months.
2. Nose Frida- I am so glad that I bought this little gadget before Zander was born. He developed congestion at 1 week old and is still dealing with it at almost 8 weeks. It's gotten much better but I still have to suck the snot out of his nose 1-2 times a day. This works so much better for us than the hospital bulb suction. I know it sounds weird that you are literally sucking the snot out of your child's nose but I've never gotten snot mouth and if I did I really wouldn't care.
3. Bath Chair- We started using this about 2 weeks ago and he loves it. The perforation in the back lets his body sit in the water comfortably and safely. We fill the tub up to about his belly button and it keeps him warm and happy during bath time.
4. Sound Machine / Night Light- This has been a game changer! I mean, it's so good that my mom came and stayed with me a few nights while Chandler was out of town and when she got back home she ordered one for herself. It's great!! There are several sounds to choose from but we keep it on the white noise each night. It doubles as a night light and you choose what color you want the light to be. There is an app that connects to it so you can control the settings straight from your phone.
5. Wipe Warmer- This is one of those things that a lot of people say that they regret buying, but every baby is different. This actually made a big difference in our diaper changes. Zander never cries when I clean him with a warm wipe in the middle of the night. The cold wipes wake and startle him.
6. Eufy Baby SpaceView Pro - If you are considering the Eufy Baby SpaceView Pro, I say go for it. The peace of mind that it provides is worth the price point. This 5“screen gives you the ability to monitor your baby while they’re sleeping and has a 12 hour battery life. The camera provides full room visibility and the night vision is very clear.
7. Snuggle Me Organic- We decided the go with the Snuggle Me over the Dockatot because it was a bit more flexible and seemed more comfortable for a newborn. It hugs them in all the right places and seems a bit more like the womb. I still stand by that option. Zander absolutely loves it and used to nap it in all the time.
8. Fisher Price Dome- Since we are all on lock down and the gyms are closed, Chandler and I have been getting a pump sesh in the gym. If we want to work out together we put little Z in this dome with us and he is happy as a clam. I can't wait to take it to the beach. It's so perfect for outside activities because of the mesh sides and the dome shape that opens and closes.
9. Piano Mat- We've only had this new toy for a few days and it is Zander's number one. He goes nuts on this thing. He loves having his feet up against something and this lets him kick at the piano and react to the sounds. The toys and mirror above keep him happy and occupied. The toys are strategically placed to allow him to accidentally hit them as he flings his arms, due to reflexes. He LOVES IT!
10. Windii- If you have a newborn or are expecting go ahead and stock up on these. Newborns are very gassy and haven't learned how to pass that gas yet. Zander was only a few days old and we were dealing with a very fussy / gassy baby. This little device relieved that gas immediately. I'll warn you that a blowout usually follows, so prepare yourself.
11. Pack N Play- We use this downstairs as our changing station and Zander's nap area. He actually prefers to sleep in it over his bassinet and crib. We love that you can pick up and travel with it and how it's multifunctional.
12. Muslin Swaddles- We literally use these every single day. Not only are the colors super cute but the fabric is thin and comfortable. Mia thinks everything that is Zanders is also hers so we always lay a swaddle down before laying him down since her booty has probably been on it at some point. We lay them on his boppy, snuggle me, play mats, etc. We also will lightly swaddle him in them when he is fully clothed and don't have to worry about him getting too warm. Plus, they look really cute in pictures.
13. Baby Carrier- This carrier is a little more on the pricey side but well worth it. This is a 360 carrier so you can carry infants facing you, carry them facing out when they are a little bigger, and even carry them on your back when they've grown to that size. You'll be able to use this for years. It's also amazing quality so I'm not worried about a strap breaking and Zander falling.
14. Tub-Side Cushions- My mom gifted this to us and it has made bath time that much more enjoyable. There is a cushion for your knees and a cushion for your elbows. The elbow cushions also have pockets to hold soap, lotion, etc.
15. Portable Sound Machine- We tote this little guy around the house with us since Zander sleeps all over the place. We take it on our walks, car rides, naps downstairs, etc. We keep the hatch baby upstairs and use it for nighttime sleep.
16. Bouncer- This little bouncer has turned out to be a favorite of Zander's. I love to sit him in this bouncer and bring him around the house with me, depending on what needs to get done and he usually falls right asleep. It vibrates and plays outside noise, making it super soothing.
